Redefining revision as continual practice

Supporting SEND

SMART REVISE REDEFINES REVISION AS A CONTINUAL PRACTICE THROUGHOUT THE COURSE, AND NOT JUST AT THE END

One of the advantages of an online system like Smart Revise is that it is easy to use the built-in features of the operating system and browser for accessibility.

If students use Smart Revise on an iPad they can use text-to-speech to highlight any text to have it read to them. By using the microphone option students can also dictate their answers. Text input boxes in Smart Revise facilitate spell checking in supported browsers. These features effectively remove the literacy barrier.

Don't forget a student can also use Zoom controls to make the text size bigger. Smart Revise has an adaptive design.

More accessibility options

We are currently working on increasing the range of personal configuration options within Smart Revise. There is already an option to select a cream or lilac theme to support dyslexic students using Smart Revise. This removes the white backgrounds making the text easier to read. In the future we also aim to include a subdued theme, changing the white text on coloured backgrounds to black text on a pastel background can also help students with ADHD.
